Welcome to a guide to the hidden corners of London - one of the world’s most exciting cities.

Whether you live here or are on your first visit - or your hundredth visit - we hope you will discover the places and things many of those who do live in London often don’t know about.

Whether you’re looking for a restaurant, a bar, a fringe theatre, a quiet garden, a secret farm, unusual shopping, organic markets, or a taste of history, you should find something here.

London is an amazing city, with a history that goes back more than 2,000 years. During that time it has been burnt down several times (the first in AD61), rebuilt, bombed in two world wars and rebuilt again.

It has spread from the City to take in outlying villages that, now part of the metropolis, still keep many of their country airs.

In among it all, there is several thousand years of London history, with a surprise hidden around every corner - you just need to look around, or look up.

Street furniture and London’s statues provide fascination on every corner, while its past as a great port and centre of empire has also left a mark everywhere you look in its great buildings and public works.
